Not only is outdoor time great for gross motor skills and learning, it is also a great time to make art!
Circle Time: This is the time each day when the children gather around their teacher to promote positive relationships between the children. During this time they sing, read, and do other activities that help them learn to engage with each other.
During circle time the children work on five major skills: thinking, listening, looking, speaking and concentrating.
Classroom Time: For the older children, classroom time is when they practice all the skills that will help them transition easily into primary school. This work is typically done at a table and the children work alone or in small groups. Writing, cutting, letter recognition, shapes and color identification, beginning sounds, fine motor skills, attention span and direction following as well as classroom social skills are the focus of this time each day.
Each day the children are involved in a daily lesson that expands their world. From science expiraments to dance classes, the children spend this time each day learning in a group setting.
